What is a Tire Recycling Machine?

A tire recycling machine is a specialized industrial system designed to process waste tires into reusable materials such as rubber granules, rubber powder, steel wire, and textile fibers.

Scrap tires are notoriously difficult to handle due to their durability, steel reinforcement, and large volume. Yung Hsing’s advanced tire recycling solutions combine powerful shredding, precise separation, and durable construction to maximize material recovery while reducing operational costs.

Our systems can operate as stand-alone units or as part of a complete industrial recycling equipment line.

Applicable Tire Types

Tire Type Main Material Components Recovery Potential
Passenger Car Tires Rubber, steel wire, textile Rubber granules, steel scrap, textile fibers
Truck & Bus Tires Rubber, high-strength steel, textile Rubber chips, steel scrap
Off-the-Road (OTR) Tires Thick rubber, reinforced steel Large rubber chunks, heavy steel scrap
Motorcycle & Bicycle Tires Rubber, minimal steel Rubber powder, textile
Solid Industrial Tires Solid rubber, polyurethane Rubber reclaim, PU recycling

Tire Recycling Challenges

  • High Material Toughness:Tires are designed for durability, making size reduction energy-intensive.
  • Steel Reinforcement:Embedded steel wires require strong shredding and separation equipment.
  • Dust & Fiber Control:Fine rubber dust and fibers require efficient extraction to maintain air quality.
  • Volume Reduction:Whole tires consume significant storage and transportation space.

Typical Tire Recycling Process

  1. Manual Pre-sorting & Cleaning
Remove large debris, rims, or contaminants before processing.
  2. Primary Shredding
Feed whole tires into a Twin-Shaft Shredder for initial size reduction into rough tire chips.
  3. Secondary Shredding / Rasping
Further reduce tire chips to smaller sizes, loosening steel wires from rubber.
  4. Steel Wire Separation
Extract steel wires using a Steel Wire Separator.
  5. Granulation
Process rubber chunks through a Granulator / Powerful Crusher to produce uniform granules or powder.
  6. Fiber Separation
Remove textile fibers using an Air Separator.
  7. Dust Collection
Capture fine dust with a Dust Collector / Hammer Mill to ensure safe and clean working conditions.
  8. Final Product Collection
Store rubber granules, steel scrap, and fibers for resale or reuse.
